Youthstream? They're a Joke!

Today saw the release of the 2014 Motocross GP Calender and there seems to be some debate and divided opinion on whether Youthstream have got it right or not.

We start the year with 3 fly-away GP's; Qatar, Thailand & Brazil followed by 11 Euro GP's, two rounds still to be decided and ending with another trip to Brazil followed by Mexico.

That's 18 rounds in total spread right around the globe, starting early in March and ending early September!

Is the Qatar round going to be a floodlit event again? At the time of writing this, I have not been able to find any confirmation. Last year there were several reports coming from riders that the lighting was having some effect on their vision. Too dark on certain parts of the track and being dazzled when airborne over the jumps. Let's hope that this issue is resolved if there is indeed to be another floodlit event.

There have already been a few eyebrows raised from some quarters, concerned about the amount of air miles they will accumulate and the fact that they will have to dig deeper into their pockets, more-so than ever before to complete the marathon.

From a Youthstream point of view, we are told that they are trying to create a wider audience for our beloved sport of Motocross, but at what expense to the teams and riders involved?

So, have Youthstream gone too far? (no pun intended) Do they even take team and riders concerns into consideration?

I'll let you decide.
